Bristol boss Paul Hull calls for peer pressure in squad

Bristol boss Paul Hull wants to see his players pushing each other to improve after seeing them slump to an eighth defeat of their Championship campaign.

The 36-13 loss at Doncaster leaves Bristol eighth in the table and Hull was left berating a lack of composure.

He told BBC Radio Bristol: "We've got to keep working hard, build pressure in training and we need peer pressure.

"These players have got to challenge each other, and that was said in the huddle at the end of the game."

Despite parity up front, Bristol only crossed for one try through winger George Watkins and conceded five at the other end.

"We competed toe-for-toe with Doncaster, who have a very physical, aggressive forward pack which we matched and at times drove them back," Hull added.

"But we let ourselves down. At least three tries we gifted them and we should have scored some ourselves, two in the first half and one in the second. That's 21 points we just threw away.

"We didn't have the composure to capitalise on the territory we had. Individual errors let us down and there's a lot of angry players in the changing room as the score didn't reflect the game.

"This was always going to be a tough place to come. We came unstuck here last year and the only difference this year is we deserved a lot more from the game.

"We didn't deserve to lose by that many points. If we had a bit more composure we could have won that game."
