Guinness Premiership leaders Saracens made it eight wins out of eight as they beat Wasps to extend their lead at the top of the table to six points.

A converted Schalk Brits try and Derick Hougaard's drop-goal, either side of a Dave Walder penalty, made it 10-3.

A second Walder penalty and a first for Hougaard made it 13-6 at the break.

Hougaard then added a second drop-goal and two penalties as Sarries continued the best start to a Premiership season since Newcastle in 1997.

South African fly-half Hougaard missed four kicks at goal but Saracens still recorded their biggest Premiership win over fellow Londoners Wasps.

Saracens head coach Brendan Venter:

"Winning is becoming a bit of a drug. We won't win every game, that's the nature of rugby. But we are very difficult to beat and our line-out and scrum were magnificent.

"Someone asked Tiger Woods his motivation and he replied that he hated losing. The same question was put to Roger Federer and he said it was his love of winning. I want us to be like Federer."

Wasps head coach Tony Hanks:

"No excuses. We were not accurate enough on the day, which was a bad day at the office.

"This group of Wasps players has been earning praise in recent weeks so it's about what we did in this 80 minutes.

"I am disappointed with this display, one from which we did not deserve a losing bonus point."
