Blackheath gained an important 37-17 victory over Nuneaton, who are just one place above them in National One.

Despite the convincing scoreline, the visitors came back from a half-time deficit of 20-7 to within three points.

But tries from Danny Caprice and man of the match Mike Staten sealed Blackheath's third win of the season.

Canterbury were denied their first away victory of the season in National Two South after a long-range penalty goal from Worthing secured a 20-20 draw.

Elsewhere Westcombe Park are just a point behind Canterbury in the league, with a game in hand, after a 21-7 win over Lydney.

Gravesend's unbeaten start to the season was ended by Cobham, as they lost 25-15.
