Nottingham re-sign flanker Raven

Sam Raven
Raven has struggled since leaving Nottingham last summer

Nottingham Rugby Club have re-signed back row forward Sam Raven.

The 26-year-old left the Green & Whites for Rotherham in the summer of 2008 and also played for another National One side, Cornish Pirates.

Flanker Raven said: "It's really great to be back. I had a tough season last year moving from one team to the other and it's great to be settled again."

However, England Under-20 hooker James Clark has decided to leave the club for personal reasons.

Director of rugby Glenn Delaney added: "We are delighted to have Sam back in the squad this season. He is one of a number of new additions to the squad, which I am still finalising."

Nottingham's pre-season preparations continue when they take on Premiership side Saracens at Vicarage Road on Tuesday, 25 August and Northampton Saints at Franklins Gardens on Saturday, 29 August.
