Jackson is Nottingham's top points-scorer this season |
Four Nottingham players have been selected to play for the Barbarians this summer. Joe Duffey, Craig Hammond, Luke Sherriff and David Jackson are all in the squad for the Mobbs Memorial game against Bedford Blues on 7 April. Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney has already been announced as the Barbarians coach. Duffy, Hammond and Sherriff have all represented the Barbarians in the past, but this is Jackson's first call-up. "It was a complete surprise and a shock to get the call from the Barbarians but I couldn't accept the invitation quickly enough," Jackson enthused. | I am sure I will look back in years to come and remember this as one of the highlights of my career Nottingham full-back David Jackson |
"They are the most famous rugby team in the world and I feel very honoured to have been selected for the Mobbs Memorial game." He added that he was particularly looking forward to working with Delaney in different circumstances. "The Baa-Baas are notorious for their open, running rugby and I am sure Glenn will have a few tricks up his sleeve for our attacking play. "You look back at the great Barbarians games and there are world-class players from all over the globe out on the field expressing themselves and enjoying playing rugby with a free licence to entertain. "I am sure I will look back in years to come and remember this as one of the highlights of my career."
