Bath captain Michael Lipman could play against West country rivals Gloucester after missing the opening game of the season after a clash of heads.

Alex Crockett is also expected to come into contention after also missing the win at Bristol with an ankle problem.

Former Bath fly-half Olly Barkley could be in line for his Gloucester debut against his old side.

Barkley, who is recovering from wrist surgery, could come in for Anthony Allen who has an ankle injury.

Bath coach Steve Meehan told BBC Radio Bristol:

"He [Michael Lipman] was very close last weekend, so you'd hope that everything goes well for him this week.

"He's absolutely chomping at the bit to get out there and get amongst the Gloucester team, so I hope that his improvements continue and we see him on Saturday."

Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"Some of the areas of our game are not developing, some of the situations we've had before and we're making the same mistakes."

"Individuals within the team need to take the responsibility to take the next step or I've got to take the responsibility to change those individuals."

"That's not going to be something which is pushed later into the season, we're going to deal with those problems here and now because the protective process of development is nearing an end."
