Nottingham's director of rugby Glenn Delaney says he is looking forward to seeing his side back on the field in a pre-season friendly. The Green and Whites take on London Irish at The Avenue, Sunbury, on Friday night. Delaney said: "The game at Coventry on the last day of last season seems like such a long time ago. Delaney added: "The whole squad has worked really hard over the summer months, both in the gym and on the field, but it is vital that we turn all that hard work into something tangible in the next couple of weeks. "London Irish will be a massive test first up and that won't be helped by the fact that we surprised them a little bit last year with how good we were." Nottingham face Northampton Saints in their second pre-season fixture on 22 August at the Lady Bay training ground.
