1033: Right, that's it from me. Thanks very much for your company. Take care of yourselves, let's do all this again soon.

"The third try from the All Blacks was one of the most beautiful I have seen, just like their second last week. Only NZ could pull it off. On the plus for England at least they scored a couple of tries but NZ were far, far too strong."
FULLTOOTH on 606

"Poor, poor, poor! We were totally outclassed in every aspect of the game. The RFU needs to have a good look at the whole system as it currently is and change it drastically."
Jbl366 on 606

"Congrats to the AB's for the fantastic leason in rugby and sportsmanship. You deserve it. I'm now off to the pub to drown my sorrows."
charlton_chap on 606

Can I join you? Just don't tell my boss.

"Don't feel we were 32 points inferior, but there was a gap in class."
Slater582 on 606

"I hope Martin Johnson uses this as an opportunity to rip up the team sheet and start from afresh. Put a young talented team together and leave them together to learn how to play as a team. Yes they may lose a few games but before long he should have a balanced and cohesive unit."
akawaveydavey74 on 606

"We had some opportunities in the first half but we did not take them. That cost us in the end."
England skipper Steve Borthwick

FULL-TIME: New Zealand 44-12 England
Thankfully, from an England point of view, that's all over. The visitors suffer their third heaviest defeat at the hands of New Zealand. Ouch. England played well at times but in truth, they were never really in it.

80 mins: TRY New Zealand 44-12 England
The All Blacks just do not stop. Replacement scrum-half Jimmy Cowan bundles over and the video referee gives the score. Stephen Donald kicks the conversion.

80 mins: The All Blacks pressure the England line. The ball is kicked to the wing and after Tom Varndell fails to collect the ball, Adam Thomson touches down. However, the video referee does not give the try as he rules that Varndell was fouled in the air by Keven Mealamu.

77 mins: New Zealand are in England's 22 and get a penalty near the posts after a nice chip through by Sitiveni Sivivatu. They take a scrum, then a tap when England are penalised again. The ball is spread wide but England cover and win the ball back.

74 mins: Carter's work is done for the evening as he trots off. David Paice comes on for England.

73 mins: Horrific moment as the game winds down. Tait is tackled by Kahui but there is a huge clash of heads and England's full-back is injured. He is conscious but there is blood everywhere and after quite a bit of treatment, he clambers onto a cart and is taken off. Nasty. Peter Richards comes on.

73 mins: New Zealand go wide. Sitiveni Sivivatu thinks he has scored but play is brought back, harshly, for a forward pass.

73 mins: Jason Hobson on for Stevens.

71 mins: Tindall is back on the field after his 10 minute rest. England lose a scrum in their own 22, New Zealand attack but MacDonald knocks on 15 metres from the England line.

"Finally, a small bit of backline class from England. Varndell had an easy finish, that's how it should be."
DevonCentre12 on 606

69 mins: Lock Ben Kay is on for Tom Palmer.

65 mins: TRY New Zealand 37-12 England
Stirring stuff from England. Haskell and Topsy Ojo both punch holes and the All Blacks are desperately defending. The ball goes wide and Tait loops his pass to Varndell on the wing and the Leicester man strolls in. Barkley misses the extras.

"I thought Tindall had a good game. Silly me..silly him, now he's in the bin."
walgert on 606

61 mins: TRY New Zealand 37-7 England
The All Blacks inch their way towards the England line thanks to a wonderful offload from Carter. The visitors are forced into desperate measures and Mike Tindall is sin-binned for slowing the ball down. From the resulting five metre scrum, Lauaki picks up and bundles over. The All Blacks really have not been made to work hard enough for their tries. Carter converts.

60 mins: England are digging in and trying to make things happen. Maybe just a little too much. Care snipes down the blind-side of a ruck but delivers a pass straight into the arms of Richard Kahui. England just manage to get back and cover but they knock on and the home side have a scrum.

57 mins: Joe Worsley and Tom Croft are on for England, Rees and Narraway off.

52 mins: TRY New Zealand 30-7 England
There are times when you have no choice but to sit back and relish the rugby offered up by the All Blacks. From another All Black ruck, the ball is spread wide to Carter, who delivers a wonderful ball to Sitiveni Sivivatu which splits the England defence. The wing releases Ma'a Nonu, who has the simple task of scoring. What a response. On BBC Radio 5 Live, former England scrum-half Matt Dawson says that no team in the world could have defended that. It's hard to disagree. Carter converts.

49 mins: TRY New Zealand 23-7 England
From a five metre scrum, New Zealand are penalised but Care does not muck about, tapping quickly and storming over before the All Blacks know what is going on. He really has been England's sharpest player today. Barkley lands the conversion from near the touchline. We'll forgive him for that earlier miss then.

47 mins: England reach the New Zealand 22 and there is an opportunity out wide. However, the passing is looping and slow rather than quick and direct, allowing the All Black defence to drift over and cover.

44 mins: PENALTY New Zealand 23-0 England
That's how you do it. Carter slots over from 40m after Haskell has a funny 10 seconds. He is penalised for being offside at a ruck and then compounds his mistake by throwing the ball away - handing Carter an extra 10 metres.

42 mins: It just goes from bad to worse. Rodney So'oialo is pinged for holding onto the ball in the tackle. Tom Rees should take credit for that. However, from right in front of the posts, Barkley spoons it wide. Dreadful. Oh yeah, and he is now limping.

41 mins: Barkley starts the second half. Prop Tony Woodcock is on for Neemia Tialata.

"England never look like they have an inkling about attacking play even against mediocre opposition. What they need is to go back to basics and understand that passing the ball and creating space is the way to win rugby games."
akawaveydavey74 on 606

"WE'RE GUNNA WIN IN THE CRICKET, WIN IN THE CRICKET."
BWFC_Bedford on 606

"Actually, despite the score, this is a much better performance from England than I've seen for a while. The precision isn't there, but the intent to actually attack is. NZ are clearly a better team, though England don't think so and hence are giving them free kicks aplenty. And Dan Carter is having another excellent game, what a player."
Dr Webb on 606

"Great commentary on another lop-sided game for the All Blacks. It seems "for all the world to see" that England are going to get stuffed - again, despite the solid midfield of Tindall and Noon (who said those two had solid written all of over them? - do me favour).
Rugby_Will on 606

HALF-TIME: New Zealand 20-0 England
Well, well. That was a half. England have had their chances but New Zealand have showed them how to be clinical. It is really going to be an uphill struggle from here.

"How many times have we touched the try line and not come away with a try? It should be England 21 New Zealand 20... but it isn't."
huddy15 on 606

"Mathew Tait! Oh dear, nothing is going for us today is it?"
DevonCentre12 on 606

37 mins: From the resulting five metre scrum, Matt Stevens is penalised and New Zealand can clear their lines.

34 mins: Great work from Tait. He goes on a trademark outside break on New Zealand's 22 before chipping over the defence towards the in-goal area. It seems for all the world that he will score after he collects the bouncing ball but at the crucial moment he spills it. Massive chance.

30 mins: Flood has not recovered fully from that shoulder injury and is forced off. Olly Barkley is now England's fly-half.

28 mins: TRY New Zealand 20-0 England
Shambles. England's midfield seems as brittle as last week. The All Blacks have a five metre scrum, the ball goes right, missing out two players, and Carter drifts unchallenged through a cavernous gap between Mike Tindall and Tait. Too, too simple. Carter converts.

28 mins: New Zealand skipper Richie McCaw limps off injured. Doesn't look good. Sione Lauaki replaces him.

28 mins: New Zealand pile forward again after Tim Payne is penalised for stamping all over McCaw. Carter collects his own chip and crashes over the line but Mathew Tait just, and only just, holds him up. The video ref gives him the benefit of the doubt.

"13-0 down and I fear NZ haven't even got going yet. Going to be an awful scoreline come full time."
Slater582 on 606

"Anybody else out there, or is it just me and you Mark?"
nowthennathan on 606

25 mins: Big moment for England. Carter fails to collect an up and under in his own 22 and Narraway releases Varndell out wide. The winger crashes over in the corner but the try is not awarded as the video referee correctly rules that Leon MacDonald had just pushed Varndell out of bounds.

24 mins: PENALTY New Zealand 13-0 England
England skipper Steve Borthwick is penalised for being on the wrong side of a line-out maul. Carter slots over the kick.

22 mins: England scrum-half Danny Care takes a quick tap from deep and darts through a gap. Nice to see. However, when New Zealand bring their man down, England dive into the ruck and the All Blacks gain possession.

20 mins: Another wonderful attack from New Zealand after a quick line-out in their own half. The ball is spread wide quickly and Kahui looks as if he will get to the corner but Flood stops him with a fine last-gasp tackle. It looks as if he has dislocated his shoulder, or broken his collarbone, as he writhes in pain on the grass but after a bit of treatment - the now Leicester man is up and playing.

19 mins: It's all a bit scrappy at the moment although Carter does lift things a little with a lovely step and offload that takes him past Haskell.

16 mins: New Zealand lock Ali Williams is off after picking up an injury in a tackle from Mathew Tait. Anthony Boric is his replacement.

12 mins: TRY New Zealand 10-0 England
England fire an up and under far too long and New Zealand counter. Carter goes on the outside and after Noon falls off a tackle, he releases debutant centre Richard Kahui on the scissors for his first international try. Easy. Carter converts.

10 mins: It's been a good couple of minutes from England. They are having a bit of ball now. The visitors threaten when Haskell charges forward on the blind-side from a nice line-out move.

8 mins: Wasps blind-side James Haskell shows his power, driving a New Zealand player backwards in the tackle. England get the penalty, fly-half Toby Flood sees a gap and boots the ball to the corner flag. Leicester flyer Tom Varndell chases it down but Sitiveni Sivivatu covers.

6 mins: England's forwards try and rumble forward in New Zealand's half but after they go to ground, more ferocious work by the All Blacks at the breakdown - this time by Adam Thomson - forces the penalty.

2 mins: PENALTY New Zealand 3-0 England
New Zealand try and attack but after they fail to punch through the England line, play is brought back for a penalty. Lee Mears is pinged for desperately trying to hold onto to the ball as Richie McCaw ripped it from his grasp. Carter puts his team in front.

1 min: All Black fly-half Dan Carter kicks off. England try and go through the phases with the forwards but are turned over after some good work by New Zealand at the breakdown. Not a good start.

0832: Well that passes without much incident. Referee Jonathan Kaplan is about to get the game started.

0831: The anthems are a little understated. Maybe it is the presence of a schoolboy choir which is keeping everyone calm. It's haka time.

0824: It's dry in Christchurch but quite murky to be honest. The teams are about to emerge.

"Don't see New Zealand ruling the roost in the midfield this week. Noon and Tindall have solid written all over them."
AbbyNo7 on 606

0818: New Zealand are giving Test debuts to outside centre Richard Kahui and winger Rudi Wulf today. Wulf, 24, is playing for the All Blacks just three years after breaking his neck after diving into the shallow end of a swimming pool. He still has the scars above his eyes from the brace he had to wear. Unbelievable. Lawrence Dallaglio went to see him in hospital when in New Zealand for the 2005 Lions tour. Nice touch.

0812: Andrew has certainly tried to shake things up following last weekend's first Test defeat, making six changes to the side that lost 37-20 in Auckland.

Five of those alterations are in the backs, with the highlights being the selection of debutant scrum-half Danny Care, the axing of fly-half Charlie Hodgson and the pairing of Jamie Noon and Mike Tindall in the centres.

Don't know about you, but having these two smashers in midfield smacks to me of damage limitation and I do have a degree of sympathy for the dropped Olly Barkley.

The Gloucester centre certainly voiced his opinion during the week, I wonder how manager Martin Johnson will be feeling about those comments while sitting at home? Interesting.

0809: It has been quite a week for the England squad. They have been under the shadow of a police investigation after four players were accused of a serious sexual assault following the first Test defeat last weekend - an allegation the players have denied in the "strongest terms".

England's management team have insisted that the players have not lost their focus and tour manager Rob Andrew said on Friday that "we are pretty confident we can move our game on".

Thankfully, after a week of rumour and innuendo, we can at last concentrate on some international rugby. Well, for the next two hours at least.

0806: Bit of late team news for you, substitute wing David Strettle has been ruled out with a calf strain suffered in training. Leicester flanker Tom Croft is promoted to the bench leaving a five-two forwards split among the replacements.

0804: Now I have to admit, I'm a little bit fuzzy around the edges this morning after Croatia were knocked out of Euro 2008 last night. Obviously I am still very, very gutted but over the last 10 hours or so I have come to the conclusion that football is a rubbish sport anyway. You lot obviously agree otherwise you wouldn't be here, right?

"We have to build on the positives from last week. We need to cut out the errors and the match will come down to fine margins. The preparation has gone well, we have been concentrating on this rugby match."
England skipper Steve Borthwick

0800: Hello you. Welcome to what could be a pretty feisty game as England, beleaguered and under-siege, aim to defy the odds by beating the All Blacks in the second Test. What a way to spend a Saturday morning.

Tell you what, it's pretty exciting being a BBC Sport reporter you know. Last weekend I was in California for the US Open golf, this weekend I'm in Christchurch. (Obviously I haven't left a drab and grey west London but hey, why spoil the illusion?)

So how do you think the game will go and what do you make of Rob Andrew's team selection? Get involved on 606 or via text on 81111 and I will use as many contributions as I can. Go on, you know you want to.
