England Under-20s coach Nigel Redman has been appointed as the Rugby Football Union's new elite coach development manager. The 43-year-old former England and Lions player will report to the head of elite coach development, Kevin Bowring. Redman coached the England U19s team before guiding the U20s to a Grand Slam in this year's Six Nations. Redman's former Bath and England team-mate Martin Haag has been appointed as a National Academy coach. Haag will be involved in the coaching of the U20s team, which will now be led by Mark Mapletoft. Redman will lead England's U20s to the IRB Junior World Championship in Wales next month before taking up his new role on 1 July.
