Mallinder's mind is on Northampton Saints next season

Northampton Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder has indicated that he will not be leaving Franklins Gardens to join the England set-up.

Mallinder has been linked with a possible role in the coaching team being put together by the new England team manager Martin Johnson.

But Mallinder told BBC Northampton: "My mind is on Northampton and doing well in the Premiership next season."

Mallinder has led the Saints to promotion to the Premiership this year.

Saints chairman Keith Barwell has said he will be doing all he can to keep Mallinder at the club.

"It's really nice for the fans, and particularly Keith, to be very supportive, and that's very encouraging from my point," added Mallinder.
