Former Coventry RFC player-coach Brett Davey has admitted he was never given the position of head coach during his time at the club. Davey left the Butts Park Arena on Wednesday after taking up a more prominent role when Murray Henderson moved to a development job last year.
Davey told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "I didn't have a definable role.
"I couldn't really be offered a guarantee of actually what my role would be for next season."
Forwards coach Dave Addleton has been put in temporary charge of the National League One outfit.
