Director of rugby Glenn Delaney says Nottingham have no option but to play their EDF National Trophy tie with Launceston on Sunday 24 February. Nottingham were drawn at home for the quarter-final on Saturday 23 February.
But the Green and Whites groundshare with Notts County who will be using Meadow Lane for a League Two game.
"We're in discussions but our view is that we can't play on the Saturday at all. It's almost an impossibility," Delaney told BBC Radio Nottingham.
The rules of the competition give Launceston the right to play the match on a Saturday.

But Delaney said: "From our perspective we have to talk to them and suggest this is how we have to do it. We've got to cross that bridge.
"Quite what would happen if they refuse to play on Sunday I'm not too sure.
"We would have to look at the rules and regulations and probably get someone at headquarters involved.
"Hopefully we can get the game on on the Sunday in our normal home game slot."
