Esher coach Mike Schmid says his team must be mentally stronger if they are to do well in National League 1. Schmid has demanded more consistency from his promoted team after Saturday's 36-17 home defeat to Rotherham.
Schmid told BBC Southern Counties: "Last year if we were slightly off our best we could still scrape by.
"But at this level you don't get away with that. If you're not at your best or not putting in a quality performance you don't win."
Esher currently stand eighth in the National League 1 table, well behind the top two, Northampton and Exeter, but comfortably clear of any relegation worries.
