Esher first-team manager Dave Page says victory at home to Rotherham this weekend should secure their National League One status. The Surrey side were second bottom at one stage since gaining promotion in the summer but are now eighth on 41 points, 23 points clear of trouble.
Page told BBC SCR: "We've always set our goal on 45 points being enough. But now we want to finish in the top seven.
"If we finish above a team like Plymouth that would be unbelieveable."
Saturday's match is also a chance for coach Mike Schmid to beat his former club.
Page added: "Mike took Rotherham to the Premiership and then got treated quite badly by them, and wants to get one over on them. And the players badly want to do that for him".
