Leeds moved off the bottom of the Guinness Premiership after getting the better of fellow strugglers Worcester.

Fly-half Alberto Di Bernardo, back after a hand injury, kicked 11 points and set up Stuart Hooper for the game's opening try on half-time.

A superb solo effort by Jonny Hepworth and another try from Jon Goodridge put the home side in control.

Late tries by Loki Crichton and Ryan Powell gave Leeds some anxious moments but they held on for victory.

"I'm delighted and I thought we deserved it to be honest.

"There are areas where we can improve but there were lots of really good things and for the defence to hold out in the closing stages there was immense.

"I said in the week that there one hundred reasons why we needed a win and we've got it. Hopefully this can be the start of a great weekend for Leeds rugby."

"It's worrying, but having said that I've been in the game for 21 years as a coach and I cannot remember conceding tries like we have been doing, where the opposition breaks away and punishes you."
