Lewsey was the day's top scorer |
England's Josh Lewsey stormed back into action, scoring 10 tries including two in the final, as Wasps won their first Middlesex Sevens title in 13 years. Lewsey, who was dropped by England last season, showed impressive form as he helped Wasps beat Leicester 29-10 in the final at Twickeham.
The Tigers reached the final by topping their group and beat Newcastle and London Irish in the knock-out stages.
After the group stage, Wasps saw off Saracens and Harlequins.

Northampton, Worcester and Bristol and Premiership champions Sale failed to get past the group stages.
After four tries in Wasps' group games, Lewsey added three more in the 31-14 quarter-final win over Saracens, to set up semi-final against Harlequins, who enjoyed the biggest win of the day when they beat Bath 42-17.
In their quarter fina, Irish beat holders Gloucester 28-14 to a semi-final against Leicester, who beat Newcastle 24-21.
Quins kept up their momentum in the semi-final when Dave Strettle's two early tries put them on top against Wasps, before Lewsey's side won through 26-19.
The other semi-final saw Leicester beat London Irish 26-14.
After the final Lewsey, who was given the summer off by England coach Andy Robinson, was a happy man.
"I was a bit nervous about playing Sevens today as I haven't touched a Sevens ball for four years but it's been a delightful day," he said.
"Some of our younger guys have never even been to Twickenham before, so I was really pleased that they did so well."
