The Middlesex Sevens, the traditional curtain-raiser to the new season at Twickenham, will have a new format for this year's tournament on 12 August. Only the 12 Guinness Premiership clubs will compete, with no invitational sides involved.
The 12 clubs will drawn into four pools of three teams, ensuring every team plays at least two matches before the top two progress to the quarter-finals.
Gloucester, who beat Wasps in last year's final, will defend their title.
