Mike Catt joined London Irish in the summer of 2004 |
London Irish centre Mike Catt is the latest name to be linked with the job of backs coach at Leicester next season, report BBC Radio Leicester. The England World Cup winner, 35, will retire from playing in the summer but the Exiles are keen for him to take a coaching role at the Madejski Stadium.
Catt is one of a number of candidates being interviewed by Leicester.
Head coach Pat Howard has already announced that he will be leaving the Tigers at the end of the season.
An original shortlist of three for the backs coach job was reduced after Scott Johnson hinted he would head back to his native Australia and Jim Mallinder decided to stay with the Rugby Football Union's National Academy.
Catt, who has 65 England caps, joined London Irish in 2004 after 12 years with Bath.
