Bath have strengthened their front row with the signing of Tongan and Auckland Blues prop Taufa'ao Filise. The 28-year-old, who stands 6ft 4in and weighs 19st 5lb, has signed a deal until the end of the season and will join up with the club later this month.
"Bath is renowned for its strong forward pack and I am looking forward to being a part of that," Filise told the club's website.
"It is a new challenge for me and I am looking forward to meeting everyone."
Filise was a Bay of Plenty substitute for the game against the British and Irish Lions this summer and played a big part in the Blues Super 12 campaign.
He has 11 caps for Tonga, the last coming in the summer against Samoa, and three for the Pacific Islanders.
"He is a strong scrummager and a big presence in the loose," said Bath head coach John Connolly.
"He will add strength in depth to a squad that is likely to have further international call-ups during the Six Nations."
