Richards is in line to take over coaching duties at The Stoop |
Former Leicester Tigers coach Dean Richards is set to return to the Zurich Premiership with Harlequins. Richards, currently coaching French side Grenoble, is poised to become director of rugby at The Stoop this summer, BBC Sport understands.
Grenoble are currently languishing near the bottom of the league and Richards is thought to be willing to forego the remaining year on his contract.
But Harlequins would not be drawn on any potential deal to acquire Richards.
Richards' time on the continent has been plagued by rumours of a rift between himself and the club's players.
He was axed as Leicester director of rugby in February last year after 23 years at the club as player and coach.
The former England stalwart coached the Tigers to four league titles and two Heineken Cups successes in seven years.
It is thought that current Quins head coach Mark Evans will remain as chief executive but the future of coaches John Kingston and Paul Turner is not yet known.
