Tries: Penney, Staniforth, Strudwick, Dawson

Struggling London Irish ended a run of five straight Premiership defeats with a vital win over Saracens.

The Exiles had to come from behind after three Glen Jackson penalties gave Saracens a 9-0 half-time lead.

But the visitors responded with two tries in eight minutes from Rod Penney and Scott Staniforth.

Jackson slotted another three points but two penalties from Barry Everitt and late tries from Ryan Strudwick and Kieron Dawson sealed a bonus point.

The victory is a massive boost for Irish who moved away from the relegation danger zone while Saracens were denied a chance of going fifth.

The home looked all set for the win after the opening half but Steve Diamond's side could not build on the nine-point advantage and spent most of the second half on the back foot.

They even had the chance of a losing bonus point but were denied by the two injury-time tries.

Centre Penney started the fightback for Irish and the game started to go the Exiles way after he carved his way through to score.

Jackson's fourth penalty made the score 12-7 on 54 minutes but Scott Staniforth powered his way over two minutes later after a strong Roland Reid run to level the scores.

Substitute Everitt added two further penalties before Strudwick claimed an interception try in injury time.

And with time running out, Staniforth's searing touchline break gave the supporting Dawson an opportunity to cross in the final move of the match.
