Humphreys has led Bath for most of the season |
Danny Grewcock has handed over the Bath captaincy to Jonathan Humphreys for Saturday's Zurich Premiership final. Former Wales hooker Humphreys will lead Bath as they target a first domestic title since 1996 against Wasps.
"I have had to fight my way into the side because Rob Fidler has been outstanding, and it was a close call for me in selection," Grewcock said.
"'Humphs' has done an incredible job leading the team, and it is right that he is captain on Saturday."
England lock Grewcock has missed a large part of the season due to international commitments and injury.

"The reason that we are playing in the final is because of the guys who have been in action for the club all season," he added. Humphreys, 35, is happy to continue in the role he has occupied for much of the campaign, in which Bath led the Premiership virtually from start to finish.
"It is a tremendous honour for me to be captain," he said.
"Danny and I work well together, and I am sure that he will lead by example on the field on Saturday."
When Bath and Wasps met in last year's Parker Pen Challenge Cup final, Grewcock was sin-binned for punching England team-mate Lawrence Dallaglio.
