Newcastle Falcons have announced that their pre-season tour will be to Ireland in August when they will play Munster and Connacht. The Falcons will take on Connacht on Tuesday 17 August before facing Heineken Cup semi-finalists Munster on Monday 23 August.
New Falcons forward Mike McCarthy will be in action against his old team having moved from Connacht recently.
The current Falcons squad includes England World Cup hero Jonny Wilkinson.
New forwards coach Ross Nesdale will also get a chance to return to Ireland, for whom he won 13 caps between 1997-99.
Those Falcons players not on national team tours are currently on holiday after the end of the domestic season, and will return for pre-season training in early July.
