Tries from Justin Bishop, Delon Armitage and Michael Horak helped London Irish to their first Premiership home win for 11 months. Bishop ran in just moments before the half-time break after Barry Everitt had already found the uprights.
Saracens fought their way back with a Nicky Little penalty after 70 minutes.
But their hopes were dashed as Armitage and latterly Horak scored a try apiece in the space of just three minutes at the end of the game.
Saracens coach Rod Kafer opted to start Ben Russell at fly-half for the first time and the move failed as the Londoners lacked any cohesion or direction.
 | It was a just reward for the way we dominated the game in terms of territory and possession |
His first start for the club went so awry he was eventually replaced at half-time.
Everitt opened the scoring for the Exiles with a penalty after former French hooker was sin-binned for handling in a ruck.
The hosts' first try came in the 38th minute when Mike Catt pierced the Saracens defence for a series of attacks that Bishop finished off.
Little managed a penalty in the 70th minute - Saracens' only points of the afternoon.
 | There were a number of factors that had an influence on this game and I'm guarding my tongue |
But that was rapidly overshadowed four minutes later as Armitage was sent clear on the blindside by Kieron Dawson and cruised into the corner.
Worse was to follow for Saracens as Horak scored Irish's third try after breaking a tackle and running in unopposed.
Saracens coach was unhappy with the officials and said: "I'll certainly be speaking the referee, his two touch judges and the referee assessor.
"But that's no excuse for our performance. We had 22 good players but they played poorly regardless of injuries or anything else."
