Newcastle's Jonny Wilkinson was relieved to come through his first Zurich Premiership game for more than eight months unscathed. But the World Cup star, who kicked 15 points against Worcester, would not be drawn on a date for his England return.
"The body feels good, I've got no injuries and no complaints," he said.
"But I have got a long way to go before I get where I want to be. I will let everyone else decide when I am ready for representative rugby or not."
Wilkinson played in all three of Newcastle's pre-season games, but the game against Worcester was the first real examination of whether his shoulder and neck problem has sufficiently recovered.
"I am pleased to have come through," he said.
"I still have to catch up on my level of instincts, which will come with match experience, and maybe I will learn to put myself around a lot better."
England's next game is against Canada on 13 November.
