The Scarlets must win their remaining two matches, against the All Whites at Stradey Park and then away to Ulster next week, if they are to qualify for the Celtic League quarter-finals.
Last season a Scott Gibbs-inspired Swansea recorded a 21-27 win at Stradey in a fiery encounter, then won at St Helen's in the return match for a notable double. "They were very physical and there were a lot of cheap shots going on in the games," Davies said. "I don't expect anything else from Swansea this year - we have to match that and be right up there. "I think they have tried to intimidate us over the last couple of years and one of the things I want from the players is not to take a step backwards. "I want them to be right up for this game - there's going to be fireworks." Llanelli are boosted by the return of Wales lock Chris Wyatt for his first start of the season. Wyatt, whose early season was blighted by a shoulder injury, replaces Vernon Cooper, who has been struggling with a dead leg. In the only other change to the side that took a hammering against Edinburgh last weekend, John Davies comes in at tighthead for Martyn Madden. Llanelli did not consider injury victims Robin McBryde (ankle), Simon Easterby (head) and Scott Quinnell (nose). Both sides need a win to have a chance of progressing to the Celtic League quarter-finals. With just two games to go in the pool stages, Ulster, Llanelli and Swansea seem to be competing for the fourth and final qualifying spot. Scarlets coach Gareth Jenkins is wary of the threat posed by Swansea, and spoke of their improvement under new Australian coach John Connolly. Swansea will be without Kevin Morgan for at least three weeks after injuring his knee. The Wales full-back suffered a partial tear of the cruciate ligament in his left knee playing for Swansea in the Celtic League clash with Caerphilly last weekend Morgan will miss Swansea's first two Heineken Cup matches and could also be a doubt for Wales' autumn internationals. The versatile Shaun Payne switches to 15 for the Llanelli game. Another Swansea back-line star, Mark Taylor, drops to the bench. He has been struggling since his return from a succession of knee injuries, and makes way for the in-form Steve Winn. But openside Tu Tamarua, a summer signing from Harlequins, could make his first appearance for the Whites after recovering from a shoulder operation. The former Queensland Reds player starts on the bench. Swansea have not lost to Llanelli since the Principality Cup final in May 2000, and have won their last four games at Stradey Park.
