A poor first half was Plymouth Albion's downfall in their 38-15 defeat at Esher in their second play-off group match. Tries from Tim Tunnicliffe, Jamie Mackenzie and Seb Jewell saw Esher into a 24-3 half-time lead. Jewell went over for his second, David Morton's try closed the gap, before Tom Loizides stretched the home side's lead to 28 points. There was still time for Sean-Michael Stephen to score Plymouth's second try but it was merely a consolation. Albion play their third Championship play-off game on Friday when they entertain Birmingham & Solihull at home.
