Fly-half James Arlidge has signed a new two-year deal with Nottingham, starting from the 2011/12 season.

Nottingham's leading points scorer joined the Green and Whites from Magners League side Newport Gwent Dragons last summer.

Arlidge said: "I've really enjoyed being part of the Nottingham Rugby team on and off the field this season.

"There is a brilliant team culture and it's great to be part of such a positive and ambitious club."

Arlidge scored 21 points on his competitive debut and kicked a record-equalling seven penalties in one game.

"It's been great working with Glenn [Delaney] and his staff and I'm thankful to them for giving me an opportunity to be part of it here for the next two years," Arlidge added.

Director of rugby Delaney said: "James has played a crucial role in the team this season, showing great quality under pressure and fitting into the squad very quickly.

"We're very pleased to have James remain with Nottingham for the next two seasons as we look towards an ambitious future."
