Major Stanley's XV fell to their fifth consecutive defeat as they lost out to Oxford University on Wednesday.

Flanker Alex Rowe went over to open the score for Oxford.

But the Stanley's piled on the pressure and were rewarded with a try either side of half-time from ex-Blues player Michael Rickner and winger David Smith.

But Oxford held strong and scores from team secretary Karl Outen and full-back James Crozier handed the home side the hard-fought win.
