Bristol coach Paul Hull expects improved London Welsh

Paul Hull
Bristol are looking for only their third win in nine games at London Welsh

Bristol head coach Paul Hull says the London Welsh side they face on Saturday will be a better side than the one they beat three times last season.

Bristol beat the Exiles in the league and the play-off semi-final but this term London Welsh are in second place while Bristol are down in ninth.

"They've made some good signings so they will be stronger," Hull told BBC Radio Bristol.

"So that just shows the challenge that lies ahead for us."

Bristol managed only their second win of the season when they beat Nottingham last weekend and Hull has already noticed a difference.

"I think the whole club's lifted from last Sunday's game," he said.

"We snuck it right at the end with a try from Iain Grieve and I'm pleased because we've had games like that in the past and lost."

London Welsh have won six out of their first eight Championship matches and sit only behind leaders Worcester, some 16 points ahead of Bristol.

"We know it's going to be a very physical encounter against them away from home," added Hull.

"It'll be nice to get back-to-back wins but we know it's going to be very, very tough and anyone travelling down it'll be a very good fixture to watch."
