Donovan Sanders scoring Jersey's second try |
Jersey warmed up for the new season by scoring four tries for the second week running, this time against Stourbridge. Ashley Maggs and Donovan Sanders scored as Jersey went into a 14-3 half-time lead over the National League One side. Dan Hawkes then made two second-half interceptions, leading to tries for Andrew Henderson and Mike le Bourgeois. Stourbridge coach Neil Mitchell praised his side's opponents, telling BBC Jersey: "Once the fitness is there, they'll be unbeatable." Jersey's National League Two season starts next Saturday (7 September), with an away match at Shelford, followed by their first home game against Worthing the following week.
