Hosts Argentina secured a dramatic fifth-placed semi-final win over Wales after penalty kicks in their Junior World Championship clash at Santa Fe. Rhys Downes scored Wales' only try as the visitors battled back from 9-6 down at the break to draw 19-19 and send the game into sudden-death extra-time. But the scrum-half Downes missed the vital kick as the Pumas won 9-8 in sudden-death on penalties. Wales will face Fiji on Monday to decide who finishes in seventh place. The junior Dragons beat the South Sea Islanders 31-3 in the pool stage earlier in the competition. Wales team manager Tony Clement said: "It is very disappointing, especially as we had chances to win the game in normal time. "It was a very intense, territorial game and all credit to Argentina, they were very physical and prevented us from taking the game away from them."
