Luke Fisher gets Worcester Ladies job

Former Jersey academy player Luke Fisher has been appointed head coach at Premiership side Worcester Ladies.

The 20-year-old started coaching at Les Quennevais School in Jersey at the age of 12 and is part of the acclaimed Hartpury rugby academy.

"I'm very honoured and thrilled to be offered this opportunity," said Fisher.

"My first priorities are to strengthen the depth and strength of the squads to building on this season's success and to push for a top three finish."

Fisher inherits a side with over 15 internationals and six selected for this year's Woman's Rugby World Cup.

And he is not forgetting his roots either, using his new position to continue to develop the sport.

"I want to help ladies rugby both in the Worcester and surrounding areas, and also help develop girls rugby in the Channel Islands," he said.

As part of this initiative Fisher will be going to Jersey with his team for a coaching weekend in July.
