Luctonians have played at Kingsland since 1948 |
Luctonians are already preparing for their first season at National Two level after beating Stockport 18-10 in Saturday's National Three play-off. The North Herefordshire club will play in National League Two South next term. Captain Chris Jacques told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "We have a meeting only a couple of days after being promoted. "There's going to be a lot of work behind the scenes. We have a sponsorship committee who'll be working hard to visit local businesses." He added: "Costs will be a problem, but it won't be the players problem, we can leave that to others." Anthony Marfell, who has played for the club since he was nine, says they realise there will be a lot more commitment, and a good deal more travelling. | I am a farmer so I have long hours, and it is a struggle to get to training some times Luctonians Anthony Marfell |
"Jersey are in our league which will be a nice weekend away and we will go to places like Canterbury. "I am a farmer so I have long hours, and it is a struggle to get to training sometimes. "I have a wife and two young children but this is a family club and we are all part of it. "We want them to be part of it, it's not just about the blokes, and I am very lucky to have an understanding wife. "She sees me go out the door on a Tuesday and Thursday evening for training , all day on Saturday and sometimes with a bad head on Sunday but it is a massive part of all our lives."
