Launceston's push for second place in National One suffered a blow on Saturday as they lost away at Blaydon. The home side outscored the Cornish All Blacks by five tries to four with Andrew Baggett converting all of Blaydon's touchdowns. Scott Ridell, Jason Smithson, Kerry Wood, Baggett and Chris Wearmouth were the try scorers for Blaydon. Neil Bayliss scored two tries for Launceston, with Tom Rawlings and Nathan Hannay also going over. Fly-half Tony Yapp hit three conversions for the visitors. The result leaves Launceston 11 points behind London Scottish in National One with just three games of the season left to play. Blaydon are seventh in the table with 69 points from 25 games.
