Bristol revived their play-off chances with a scrappy win over Plymouth Albion at the Memorial Stadium on Friday.
The victory puts Bristol top of Pool A, whilst Albion's hopes of progressing into the play-offs are now very slim after three straight defeats.
The hosts went ahead with a converted try from Redford Pennycook after seven minutes and led 10-0 at the break.
An Alex Davies penalty briefly brought Albion back into contention, before a second Bristol try secured the win.
The home side, who started the play-off clash the strongest, gave the partisan crowd something to cheer when flanker Pennycook drove over from close range for a try that was duly converted by fly-half Adrian Jarvis.
Despite high winds and torrential rain, Bristol continued to dominate throughout the half, but were only able to add a Jarvis penalty to their scoresheet.
Plymouth appeared rejuvenated after the break, opening their account through an impressive Davies penalty from 40 metres out after 14 minutes of the restart.
The visitors then started to put Bristol under increasing pressure with the home crowd growing restless.
But Paul Hull's side withstood the onslaught and a loose kick from inside the Albion 22-metre line ended in wing Lee Robinson diving over in the corner for a try against his former club.
Jarvis missed the conversion, but Bristol had done enough to secure the points, putting last weekend's disappointing 17-16 defeat by Bedford behind them.
The result sees Bristol go top of Pool A having taken nine points from three games, whilst Plymouth remain bottom, with just a single point from their three outings.
Bristol boss Paul Hull told BBC Radio Bristol: "It was obviously really important to get the win, after last week and the start we had against Bedford.
"We focused on the start today and we came out the blocks firing, I thought we dominated all aspects of the game really.
"We going to knuckle down, keep working hard, but I'm really pleased with the win."
