Robins is set to retire at the end of the season |
Malvern director of rugby David Robins defended his makeshift side as they were hammered 81-13 by Luton. Their half-back pairing had not even been able to train together and they trailed within two minutes after kicking possession away. Robins said: "We haven't been able to play a settled side for some time. "We have a group of willing and talented youngsters who have been asked to take an enormous step-up in the standard and style of rugby played. "They are up against men who have often played at a far higher level and are physically bigger and, however good the spirit, there is obviously a great disadvantage."
