Moseley have been granted planning permission to build a 5,000 seat stand at Billesley Common.

Birmingham City Council have approved plans for the permanent stand, along with changing rooms, hospitality boxes and conference facilities.

"It's fantastic news not just for the club but for the city and community," said Moseley director Alan Adam.

"There is a lot of hard work ahead. It will provide a top-rate facility of which the city can be proud."

Local residents and sports club are also set to benefit from the upgrade of Billesley Common with the further expansion of Moseley's community programme.

The club are part-funding the development with the money raised from the sale of their former home at The Reddings, while grants are available for various aspects of the project.

"The additional commercial opportunities afforded by the facility will enable the club to be self-sustaining with a top-level team. Hopefully a platform for the club to return to the top rungs of rugby in this country," Adam noted.

It is hoped that more than 100 full and part-time jobs will be created by the new development.
