Three Devon rugby clubs have been given brand new posts after benefiting from a joint Rugby Football Union and Sport England grant.

Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Sidmouth were nominated by the Devon RFU as being in need of replacement goalposts.

The free posts were awarded as part of the RFU's goalpost safety scheme, which has helped 75 clubs around the country.

Salcombe RFC chairman Stuart Read described the new posts as "a great gesture by the RFU".

He said: "We're very grateful for the posts, particularly as it would have cost us a lot to buy them."
