Cornish Pirates made an impressive debut in the British and Irish Cup on Sunday with a four-try victory over Scottish side Gael Force. The visitors took an early three-point lead as skipper David Blair converted a penalty chance. But the Pirates picked up a gear thanks to fly-half Rob Cook, who was able to level the scores, before Luke Collins and Nick Jackson both touched down. Gavin Cattle and Dave Ward then scored second-half chances to secure the win. The result means Pirates top the Pool A table after the first round of matches, with a trip away to Leinster next up on Friday.
