Bristol overpowered Plymouth Albion at Brickfields on Saturday, running in five tries during a comfortable win. James Phillips touched down twice for Bristol, with Jason Spice, David Blaney and Luke Arscott also going over. Fly-half Kieran Hallet had the opportunity to give Plymouth an early lead, but missed two penalties before Bristol took control. Albion did manage a consolation try through Hallet, but never looked like clawing their way back into the game. Bristol coach Paul Hull told BBC Radio Bristol: "This is the first all-round 80 minute performance that we can be proud of. "When you put in a performance like we did last week against Coventry you want to back it up with another and we did. "The tries were shared out between the forwards and backs and the forwards laid great foundations once again. "A lot of Plymouth's attacks were through the forwards, around the fringes and they really tested us there. "Next week we've got Nottingham at home but we're starting to hit our straps and getting used to the competition." As a result of the win, Bristol move up to second in the Championship, seven points behind leaders Exeter Chiefs, whilst Albion have now slipped to 10th in the league.
