Phillips has won 38 caps for Wales and three for the Lions |
Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips and South Africa's Fourie du Preez have been added to the Barbarians squad to face the All Blacks on 5 December. The pair were rivals during the Lions tour to South Africa but will both turn out for the Barbarians at Twickenham. "I'm really looking forward to being on the same team as Fourie, he's such an exceptional player, "said Phillips. "Hopefully we'll be able to give each other a few tips since the Lions series is over." Phillips, 27, is the latest addition to a stellar Baa-Baas squad that already features the likes of Bryan Habana, Matt Giteau, Juan-Martin Hernandez, Stirling Mortlock, Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha and Fourie du Preez. "It is such an honour to be asked to play," added the Ospreys star. "When I look back at the names that have worn the shirt before me, it's incredible - a 'who's who' of international rugby. "It's fantastic that the tradition of the Barbarians is still going strong in the professional era, you only need to look at the squad for this game to see how highly regarded the club is."
