Worthing RFC's newly appointed head coach Will Green is readying his side for the upcoming National League 2 South season.
The former Wasps and England prop replaced Ian Davies who left for Cornish Pirates earlier in the summer.
Green told BBC Sussex: "It's a very tough, competitive league and the key is we get off to a good start.
"We'll work as a tight unit to make sure we achieve what we want to achieve," Green added.
"Rather than bring in a whole raft of players I prefer to strengthen what we've got and improve players and get local Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire boys to come and play for Worthing.
"The key for this year is to be competitive in this league and to win the majority of our home games."
Worthing play a friendly away to Hertford this weekend before starting the season at home to relegated Southend.
