 Over 100 teams competed at the Rugby Seven's festival in Newquay |
Over 104 teams from across Britain competed at the second Newquay International Rugby Sevens tournament. Teams were able to compete in one of four events at the weekend festival. The British Army defended the Invitation Cup, while the Harpenden Praetorians from Hertfordshire won the President's Cup for the first time. Tournament director Andy Hawken said: "The 104 teams competed in a festival of rugby and so far, without exception all teams want to come back." The Men's Open competition was won by the Akuma Smurfs, while the Wooden Spoon Ladies defended their 2008 title.
