Kingdom is Albion's first new signing for the 2009/10 season |
Plymouth Albion have signed versatile back Gary Kingdom from local rivals Exeter Chiefs. Kingdom, 26, spent six years with the Chiefs and scored their only try in the 2007 National Trophy final defeat by Cornish Pirates at Twickenham. Chairman of rugby Graham Dawe described Kingdom as a "good team man" who will add quality to Albion's backline. He told BBC Sport: "He's very fit, physical, reads the game well and has a lot of pace out wide." Kingdom who can play at full-back, wing and outside centre is Albion's first new signing ahead of the 2009/10 season. Dawe expects there to be more new faces arriving at the club over the coming weeks. "We're really pleased with the way the squad is shaping up," he said. "We're organising some young players to come to Plymouth and we're just waiting for some firming up that they're happy to sign."
