Delaney steered Nottingham to fourth in National One last season |
Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney insists the club can remain competitive next season despite a cut in the playing budget. The Green and Whites finished fourth in National One last season despite severe financial problems. Delaney told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We've had a budget given out which is very prudent and is certainly less than previous years. "We have good enough players that fit into our club's financial structure." He added: "There are a lot of guys who have come to us for certainly significantly less than other clubs could offer. "I think that's a really important thing in the type on environment we've got at Nottingham. "Players want to come as they think there's a route through to the other end. "The financial side is not necessarily the most important thing so it's very pleasing."
