Leeds unaffected by restructuring

Leeds Carnegie director of rugby Andy Key insists the restructuring of the club will not affect the coaching side of the Premiership newcomers.

Leeds Met University returned their 51% stake in the club last week as Leeds Rugby retook full control.

"It will not negatively affect our coaching or things like future signings," Key told BBC Radio Leeds.

"For us it's just a change of responsibility. For the coaching staff it is just business as usual."

Key and head coach Neil Back are busily preparing their team for a return to the Premiership next season.

The West Yorkshire club have already brought in Marco Wentzel from Leicester and Alfie Too'ala from Bristol and hope to bring another two players in by the end of the week.

"It is a dealing at the top of the club rather than the day-to-day running of the club for us," he said.

"Yes, responsibility has changed hands from Leeds Met to Leeds Rugby, but in reality that's the only change.

"For Neil [Back], myself and the rest of the management staff on the rugby side we are just carrying on as before and we have not been affected whatsoever."
