Players keen on Carnegie - Back

Leeds Carnegie are being inundated with requests from agents to bring their players to Headingley, according to head coach Neil Back.

Leeds are now trying to build a squad good enough to compete in the Guinness Premiership next season.

"Players are putting themselves forward to come and play here," Back told BBC Radio Leeds.

"Word is getting out through players and agents about the new environment that is being created here."

Leeds have struggled in previous seasons to attract the bright stars to West Yorkshire, which has proved to be a major factor in their yo-yoing between the Premiership and National League One.

However the Headingley outfit are now proving to have a much strong pull with former Leicester duo of Back and director of rugby Andy Key at the helm.

That has been highlighted by the capture of South African second-row Marco Wentzel from Leicester Tigers.

Back added: "Players outside the club currently now understand that if you come to Leeds we have a management structure that will maximum your potential.

"That's what players want and we can provide that.

"So we are finding agents and players are now presenting themselves to us and that's great."
