Leeds claimed their first victory in four matches with the help of two tries from full-back Brent Webb.

The Rhinos capitalised on Brett Hodgson's early mistake to score through Webb on two minutes.

Skipper Kevin Sinfield added two penalties while Ryan Hall and Danny McGuire scored converted tries.

Webb scored his second just after the break and although Michael Lawrence claimed a consolation, Matt Diskin completed the scoring on 69 minutes.

Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown:
"We do seem to have a problem with our attitude. How many times have Huddersfield beaten teams like St Helens or Leeds in the Super League era?

"Not many, and I think it's a rabbit caught in the headlights thing. We need to do something about the confidence levels as not many of them thought they were good enough to beat Leeds.

"We also need to work on a few other things as we did not make the best of our offensive plays by coughing the ball up too often.

"But with nearly a third of the season gone, if you'd said we'd be level with Leeds in joint second then we'd have taken it."

Leeds coach Brian McLennan:
"It's hard to get out of your own half against Huddersfield and they are going to strangle a lot of teams this year. So to get so many points was pleasing.

"We worked hard for each other to get the result, but I'm sure Huddersfield will not be happy as they made a number of handling errors near our try line.

"We defended well but were only OK going forward."

McLennan on Kevin Sinfield:
"I thought he was outstanding. Kevin did a lot of good defensive work and then his kick through for Matt Diskin's try was a little gem."
