Former Scotland caps record holder Scott Murray has extended his contract with French Top 14 side Montauban by two years with an option for a third.

Now 33, lock Murray won his 87th cap in the 2007 World Cup defeat by New Zealand but has not featured in coach Frank Hadden's Scotland teams since.

The experienced second-rower joined the French side in 2007 following spells with Edinburgh, Saracens and Bedford.

Montauban sit mid-table in the Top 14 and are in this season's Heineken Cup.

Murray is set to be joined in the south of France by fellow Scot Andrew Henderson.

The 29-year-old Glasgow centre has signed a pre-contract for three years.
